Job description
Overview

This is an exciting home-based opportunity for an experienced engineer with knowledge of the Lift and Crane discipline to join Allianz Engineering, a division of a large insurer and financial services company. As an Engineer Surveyor you will assess a wide range of installations, including lifts in Dublin and lifting equipment in a Pharmaceutical company in Ireland. You will anticipate client needs and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

You will work closely with your Engineer Surveyor Team managed by a Senior Operations Team Leader. You will prepare inspection reports using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to clients. The role involves hands-on inspections of plant and equipment such as lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant. The role can be physically demanding and may require working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in hot and cold conditions.

Salary Information

Pay: Starting Circa €61,623 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is part of the total reward package.

About You

  • Up to date on knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules and procedures related to the Lift and Crane discipline.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and take responsibility.
  • Effective short-, medium-, and long-term planning to diary meetings, site visits, and work allocation.
  • Ability to travel within the local allocated work area.
  • Processing documentation and undertaking general administration in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors as required.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum qualification in Mechanical Engineering at level 4 (UK) or level 6 (Ireland) (e.g., HND/HNC/Full Technological Certificate) or working towards it.
  • Experience with lifts, cranes, and materials handling equipment, with hands-on experience in manufacturing, repair, or maintenance.
  • Strong customer interaction skills, including good oral and written communication.
  • Full valid Irish/EU/UK driving licence.
  • Time management skills to independently organise weekly work.
  • Comfort using tablets and smartphones as part of the role.

Desirable Skills

  • Incorporated Engineer (desirable).
