Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role with a housing developer.
  • Understanding of Highway and Water Industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of estate road and sewer construction & inspection.

Sphere solutions are working with a national housebuilder to recruit a Construction Engineer who will manage the design of infrastructure and groundwork packages for residential developments.

Responsibilities
  • Arranging and managing service enquiries for new developments, ensuring timely payments for required utilities.
  • Oversee designs produced by external consulting engineers, covering foundations, estate roads, sewers and Section 38, 104 and 278 works.
  • Secure and manage adoption agreements (S38, S104, S278), ensuring bonds are set up, reduced and closed on time.
  • Input into structural designs for superstructure elements.
  • Review consultant designs to ensure value engineering, accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Work closely with the Technical Team and wider business to support the discharge of planning conditions and building regulations.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role with a housing developer
  • Strong knowledge of estate road and sewer construction & inspection
  • Understanding of Highway and Water Industry standards
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Construction related qualifications (Degree/HND/HNC) desirable
