Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Wood Walton is seeking a Development & Research Engine Test Technician. This hands-on role involves supporting engineers in technical investigations, executing engine tests, and ensuring data quality. Ideal candidates will have mechanical diagnostic experience and be motivated team players. The position includes a 12-month contract with a competitive pay rate of £18.93 per hour on a rotating shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine or mechanical diagnostics and fault finding.
• Background in motor vehicle maintenance or engine testing.
• Some form of higher or further technical education.

Responsibilities

• Work in line with the organisation’s Health & Safety policies.
• Follow documented procedures for safe and accurate engine installations.
• Connect test measurement equipment for data collection.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on engines and test cell equipment.
• Support continuous improvement and value‑stream projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
