A commercially focused energy business is seeking an experienced commercial analyst to join their Cardiff office. The role involves running price forecasting models, analyzing market developments, and producing insightful reports for key stakeholders. The ideal candidate should possess a strong numerical background and excellent analytical skills, with knowledge of the UK electricity market preferred. Qualifications

  • Strong academic background with a numerical/analytical degree.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including spreadsheet and preferably database skills.
  • Developed understanding of UK electricity and relevant commodity markets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Run and improve existing price forecasting models and methodologies.
  • Monitor market and regulatory developments, review external forecasts.
  • Regularly review market data and input assumptions.
  • Produce price forecasts and provide expert insights for decisions.
  • Analyse forecasting accuracy and variance; present results to stakeholders.
