Job Summary

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an organised and motivated individual to join our Sustainability Team as an Energy & Sustainability Administrator. This role supports the Trust's commitment to delivering an ambitious sustainability and energy programme, helping us improve environmental performance across our hospitals and services.

Role Title

Energy & Sustainability Administrator

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records for electricity, gas, fuel, and water consumption across MSEFT's estate.
  • Deliver accurate monthly reports to internal and external stakeholders, providing clarification on issues and concerns.
  • Identify and analyse consumption trends and patterns, highlighting anomalies for future investigation.
  • Gather metering information to provide accurate asset records and invoicing.
  • Conduct small‑scale projects to deliver improvements in key performance indicators that can be implemented across MSEFT's estate.
  • Work independently to carry out planned and unplanned fieldwork or specialist investigative studies.
  • Provide purchase justifications, obtain quotes, raise purchase orders, and register new suppliers.
  • Query invoice anomalies, obtain credit notes and account statements from suppliers.
  • Review and process invoices for approval and payment on internal systems.
  • Administer account updates, changes, and queries for energy and water suppliers.

Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.

Experience
  • Significant experience working in an administrative or data‑inputting role in the NHS or a large complex organisation.
  • Experience of managing meetings (diaries), agendas and minute taking.
Knowledge
  • Proficient with the MS suite of programmes, e.g. Excel, Word.
  • Basic knowledge or appreciation of the regulated energy markets and the procurement of utilities.
