A leading NHS trust in England seeks a skilled Endoscopy Vetting Nurse to ensure patient safety and efficiency within the Endoscopy department. The Endoscopy Vetting Nurse plays a key role in ensuring patient safety and service efficiency within the Endoscopy department. This role focuses on assessing patient suitability for Endoscopic procedures through thorough clinical review, risk assessment and effective communication. The vetting nurse works closely with consultants, specialist nurses, administration teams, nursing and leadership teams to ensure each patient is appropriately prepared and triaged to the correct procedure and pathway.
Review referrals and clinical history to determine patient suitability. Identifying contraindications, risks or additional information prior to the patient being booked for their procedure.
Triaging to ensure patient in on correct pathway and meets current guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of vetting decisions, risk assessments and communication in line with trust policy.
Escalating complex patient cases to senior clinicians for review to ensure patient safety and optimisation.
Support the leadership team with maintenance of the waiting lists.
