The main purpose of the job is to ensure the provision of the highest standard of direct patient care for patients undergoing a range of endoscopic procedures. The post holder will assist the Endoscopist and support patients, with emphasis on patient safety and dignity during all aspects of endoscopy procedures. The post holder will ensure effective communication and education in health promotion which reflects the quality standards and mission of the University Health Board. In the absence of the Unit Sister/Deputy Sister the post holder may have responsibility for the operational management of the endoscopy unit. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed and meet the organisation's requirements in accordance with agreed protocols. As part of the South East Regional Endoscopy plan, the post holder may be expected to work across sites (Royal Glamorgan Hospital/Princess of Wales Hospital) or cross boundary work in the neighbouring Powys Health Board.
