Job summary

A modern law firm in Manchester is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate Solicitor to support both contentious and non-contentious employment law cases. Our client is a modern and progressive multi‑office law firm and is also part of a Fortune 500 global listed company. We currently have a new role for an Associate or Senior Associate Solicitor in the Manchester office working on a hybrid basis supporting both conscientious and non‑contentious employment law cases on behalf of the firm's SME and large national / international businesses. You'll be joining a growing Legal 500‑recognised team spanning several offices.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Advising on ACAS early conciliation, prospects, HR issues, and grievance/disciplinary procedures
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, handbooks, and settlement agreements
  • Managing Employment Tribunal and EAT claims, from instruction to hearing on behalf of defendants / respondents
  • Conducting advocacy (where appropriate), case management, witness statements, and client briefings
  • Delivering training, legal updates, and contributing to cross‑team knowledge sharing
  • Building and nurturing strong client relationships
To succeed in this role you will have:
  • Strong experience in both contentious and non‑contentious employment law
  • 5 PQE experience
  • Current Practising Certificate as a solicitor or barrister in the UK
  • Excellent communication, drafting and analytical skills
  • Confidence in client‑facing roles, with strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with independence and efficiency
  • Commitment to CPD, teamwork and continuous improvement

Salary to £65k plus 10% bonus plus fantastic benefits package.
