Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical teaching and supervision for junior nursing staff.
  • Designate at least 80% of time to clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with ED Matrons, Senior Nursing team, and Medical team.
Job description

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical teaching and supervision for junior nursing staff and the orientation of new staff to the A&E department.

Responsibilities
  • Designate a minimum of 80% of their time in clinical practice.
  • Work in close collaboration with the ED Matrons and Senior Nursing team in addition to the ED Medical team, Practice Development Nurses across the Trust, representatives from universities and other key personnel across the clinical and organisational multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Lead and deliver accredited courses that the department runs through the Trust clinical academy.

Applicants must fulfill all the requirements set out in the Personal Specification of the Job Description. Applicants must be committed and enthusiastic about working alongside our staff, supporting them in their development in line with the demands and requirements for ED nursing, and must be able to contribute to our training programme.

About the Team

The PDN post is an exciting opportunity for an experienced emergency nurse to join the existing practice development team. The post holder will need to be professional, dynamic and will form a key part of the senior emergency nursing team.
