Job description

Duties include completing planned maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing of a wide range of medical equipment. You will be expected to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

Based at the Royal United Hospital, the successful applicant will work in the RUH with some travel to other healthcare providers in the local area. You will need to drive the department vehicle, so a current full UK manual driving licence is essential.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic engineer to join our Electromedical Engineering Team in Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS), providing technical support to clinical teams.

You should have good practical skills and sound knowledge of equipment maintenance and board-level repair. Candidates with limited experience will be considered if they demonstrate a good practical aptitude, as medical equipment training will be provided.

Qualifications should include City & Guilds/BTEC, HNC/degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant subject. Experience in maintaining and repairing electronic equipment is required; other engineering experience will also be considered.

At the RUH, we prioritize people, working as one team to deliver person-centred care. We are proud to be in the top 20 hospitals to work for in the country and are committed to creating an inclusive environment. We celebrate diversity, support staff development, and promote wellbeing through various programs, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial support. We also offer amenities like a staff pool and provide opportunities to learn about living in the historic city of Bath and our innovative healthcare initiatives.
