Job summary

A local government authority in Thurso is seeking an experienced Electrician to install and maintain a range of electrical works such as street lighting and traffic signals. Candidates must hold a current SJIB registration card and have a driving license to efficiently travel between various work locations. The position offers a salary range of £30,303 - £33,169 per annum and is permanent.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: Working as part of a team to install and maintain a wide range of electrical works including Street Lighting, Floodlighting, Illuminated signs, Traffic Signals, Navigational Aids, Depots and Offices in compliance with electrical technical standards.

Requirements


  • A current SJIB registration card and/or working towards achieving approved status

  • A driving license is essential to travel efficiently between various work locations in the area to meet the operational needs of the service.

  • Experience in all aspects of electrical work, and electrician qualification or evidence of having completed or undertaking electrician training (e.g. 4 th year apprentice).
