This is a mobile role, but your depot base will be NN10 when you do attend the office

ITS Property Maintenance are currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified Electrician to work on a long-term social housing maintenance contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs, fault finding, and EICR testing in tenanted and void domestic properties across:

  • Travel required across: Northamptonshire → Leicestershire → Peterborough → St Neots

You must have a full UK driving licence as a company vehicle will be supplied for this role

This role covers responsive and day-to-day electrical repairs, fault finding, inspection & testing, and remedial electrical maintenance across tenanted and void domestic properties.

The position includes a paid on-call rota (1 every 6-8 weeks).

A full UK driving licence is essential - a company van & fuel card are provided.

Key Elements of the Role & Responsibilities
  • Electrical fault diagnosis and repair
  • Rewiring, fuse board changes, and remedial works
  • Smoke alarm and extractor fan installations
  • Ensuring compliance with current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
  • Providing excellent customer service to tenants and stakeholders
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including BS 7671 and internal policies, while ensuring appropriate PPE and tools are used at all times
  • Carry out safe and compliant electrical repairs and installations, prioritizing first‑time fixes and high standards of workmanship
  • Diagnose and rectify faults across domestic electrical systems, including full and partial rewires, in accordance with company and industry standards
  • Communicate effectively with residents and colleagues to keep all parties informed of job progress and outcomes. Escalate complex issues when needed for further assessment
  • Support the planned works team by completing full electrical upgrades in kitchens, bathrooms, or entire properties—both occupied and void
  • Install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations
  • Completing compliant EICRs, Electrical Certificates and Condition Reports
  • Performing responsive repairs and remedial works as per job sheets
  • Electrical fault diagnosis and “first time fix” repair
  • Installing smoke alarms, extractor fans, and domestic accessories
  • Maintaining accurate records, certificates and material logs
  • Communicating effectively with tenants and clients
  • Advising when further trades are required
  • Working collaboratively with other operatives on multi‑trade solutions
  • Participation in on‑call rota (1 in every 6‑8 weeks)
Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (C&G 2360 / 2357 / 2356 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Qualifications
  • City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Testing & Inspection
  • Unvented Hot Water Certificate
  • Water Regulations Certificate
  • PAT Testing Certificate
  • JIB H&S Test or valid JIB Card
Experience & Attributes
  • Experience in domestic or social housing maintenance
  • Competent with EICRs, fault finding, remedial works, rewires
  • Strong tenant communication and customer service
  • Able to work to job sheets and manage workload efficiently
  • Own tools (specialist tools supplied)
