Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an Electrical Systems Design Engineer for an initial 6-month contract in Stevenage. Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Electrical Systems Design Engineer for an initial 6‑month contract to join our client in Stevenage. As an Electrical Systems Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design of cables and interconnecting mediums. The aim is to develop leading edge electronic engineering expertise, capabilities and technologies.

  • Role: Electrical Systems Design Engineer
  • Pay: Up to £60 per hour via umbrella
  • Location: Stevenage – onsite 2/3 days per week
  • Contract: Monday‑Friday, 37 hours per week, 6 months contract
  • IR35 Status: Inside
  • Security Clearance: Required, can start on BPSS
Essential Responsibilities
  • Generate electrical schematics and cable design definitions utilising Zuken E3.
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and issue resolution for E3 users and the ability to utilise & integrate Zuken E3 throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Carry out investigations into a full range of cable problems and issues, developing and preparing solutions, either individually or as a member of a project team.
  • Provide guidance and support to other areas of the business in order to resolve any manufacturing issues, as well as supporting functional and environmental product trials.
Essential Experience
  • Minimum 2‑5 years’ experience in the use of E3.Cable and related products (E3.Formboard/ E3.3D Transformer beneficial).
  • Proven ability to define, deploy, and refine processes and best practices within E3, including electrical topology, wiring schematics and 2D manufacturing drawing processes and standards.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver technical instruction to E3 users.
  • Thorough understanding of product data management and change management within Windchill or similar.
  • Ability to design cable assemblies based upon electrical constraints such as current, screening, signal types, voltage drop, EMC and environmental requirements.
  • An appreciation of cable assembly production/process engineering.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of PTC CREO Cabling would be beneficial.
