A leading engineering firm in Peterborough is seeking an Electrical System Technical Lead for a 12-month contract. You will work on electrified powertrains and battery systems in a hands-on role, leading projects from specification to validation. The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering and over 5 years in electrical systems design, particularly high-voltage battery solutions. This position offers a competitive rate and an opportunity to influence innovative projects.

37 hours a week: 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thurs, 08:30-16:00 Fri
Up to £34.65 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution, OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £47ph

Based in Peterborough, you’ll help shape the future of electrified powertrains and battery systems, building and testing onsite, and getting direct feedback from customers. The team is still in its exciting early phase, offering the chance to influence direction and explore new ideas.
You’ll lead electrical architecture from scratch, solve real-world problems, and work flexibly across disciplines — everyone pitches in. With a strong foundation in electrical systems, power electronics, and vehicle integration, you’ll bring your experience to a high-performing environment that values innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.
