The Opportunity

Are you an experienced industrial or process electrician looking for a days-based role in a modern heavy manufacturing environment?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, well-established process plant - working as part of a skilled engineering team that values safety, teamwork, and professional pride.

You will play a key role in maintaining and improving the electrical and control systems that keep production moving - from motors and drives through to PLC-controlled process and instrumentation systems.

If you are seeking genuine variety, long-term stability, and the chance to develop within a major industrial organisation, this is an ideal opportunity.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you'll work Monday to Friday as part of the day maintenance team, performing a broad range of planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the plant.

Your focus will be ensuring equipment reliability, resolving faults quickly, and supporting safe, efficient production. You'll collaborate closely with other maintenance, production, and process control colleagues to keep the plant running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical plant and equipment, including LV/HV motors, switchgear, drives, and control panels.
  • Undertake first-level instrumentation and control work - pressure, flow, temperature, gas analysis, and loop testing.
  • Support ongoing reliability and performance improvement across production and packing areas.
  • Carry out inspections, isolations, and electrical safety checks to the highest standards.
  • Record maintenance activities and findings accurately within the CMMS.
  • Participate in shutdown and project work as required.
About You

You'll be a time-served, qualified electrician with proven experience in heavy manufacturing, process, or continuous production environments such as cement, steel, power generation, utilities, or chemicals.

You enjoy problem-solving, teamwork, and taking ownership for maintaining a safe and reliable plant.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical or Process Control discipline.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within heavy industry or process manufacturing.
  • PLC fault-finding (Siemens or Allen-Bradley).
  • Understanding of isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely in an industrial setting.
Desirable
  • Experience with instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, gas analysis).
  • DCS/SCADA awareness.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS systems.
  • MEWP, forklift, or telehandler licence.
The Environment

This is a hands-on industrial role within a large-scale, safety-critical process environment.

You'll be working across a wide range of equipment - motors, drives, conveyors, PLCs, and instrumentation - within a collaborative engineering team committed to reliability, performance, and safety.

Future site upgrades will include significant control system modernisation, offering opportunities for involvement in commissioning and continuous improvement projects.

What's Offered
  • Days-only working pattern (Monday-Friday, early finish on Fridays).
  • Structured training and ongoing professional development.
  • Opportunities for progression to senior technician or shift roles.
  • Strong safety culture and team-focused environment.
  • Long-term stability with a respected UK manufacturer.

If you&aposre an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician who enjoys a technically varied role, steady hours, and being part of a supportive maintenance team - this is a great opportunity to take your career forward in a major process manufacturing setting.
