Due to strong business growth, a Global manufacturing business supplying a wide range of high‑quality products for the aerospace and defence sectors is seeking to appoint an electrical bias maintenance engineer to their skilled existing team of 16 Maintenance Engineers.

With a site in Leeds stretching over 200,000 sq feet, they have superb manufacturing facilities ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Manager, you will carry out frontline maintenance tasks based upon agreed priorities while being proactive towards daily plant issues and ensuring machine safety standards are kept to the highest level.

Responsibilities
  • Performing scheduled tasks on plant and machinery (Adhere to PPM / TPM Schedules)
  • Providing electrical / mechanical maintenance to a range of machinery including, but not limited to: CNC milling machines, EDM, electronic robots, large hydraulic robots, wax injection moulding machines, casting furnaces, compressors, automated systems, lighting and component inspection equipment
  • Responsive reaction to breakdowns, keeping machine downtimes to a minimum
  • Replacement or repair of electrical and electronic components, switches, proximity and limit switches, and machine safety guards
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • PLC fault finding and interrogation to trace back faults
  • Ensure adequate spares and parts are ordered correctly
  • Continuous improvement; identifying process deficiencies and developing solutions to make improvements
Qualifications
  • Apprentice trained / Time served as an Electrical bias Maintenance Engineer
  • Trained in line with IEE Wiring Regulations (17th or 18th edition)
  • Able to understand and interpret electrical drawings
  • Experienced with PLC’s – capable of diagnosing faults, repairs and programming
  • Experienced with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ideally from a heavy manufacturing background
Offer
  • A basic salary of up to £44,000, paid weekly
  • Working a rotating 3‑shift pattern – 40hrs per week
  • Monetary bonus scheme for all employees paid on a quarterly basis (normally between 5‑12% of salary)
