Electrical Maintenance Engineer

On behalf of our client, a leading Aerospace manufacturing company, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Congleton. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant and machinery through effective electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and equipment installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine electrical maintenance on plant, machinery, and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
  • Install new electrical services in line with regulations, standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Work safely at all times, following Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, and PPE requirements.
  • Report defects and ensure tools and machinery are used correctly.
  • Work closely with Production Team Leaders to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
  • Support troubleshooting and assist in developing improved preventive maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to purchasing maintenance consumables and equipment.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as an electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of motors, drives, PLC panels, calibration, testing, and inspection.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, design installations, and diagnose faults effectively.
  • Practical problem-solving ability and a positive, collaborative mindset.
Qualifications

Essential

  • Completed electrical apprenticeship.
  • 17th or 18th Edition qualification.
  • Strong safety-first approach and understanding of safe work practices.

Desirable

  • Computer literacy.
  • Additional relevant qualifications.
  • Further Health & Safety training.
