A Central London Local Authority is seeking an Interim Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and assurance across its housing property portfolio, ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical advice and sign-off on electrical matters
  • Lead statutory inspections, testing, and remedial works programmes
  • Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, and contractor proposals
  • Oversee M&E contractors to ensure compliance, safety, and value for money
  • Support capital projects, refurbishments, and planned works
  • Identify and manage electrical risks, producing clear reports for senior officers
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, HTMs, and British Standards
  • Proven experience in electrical compliance and contractor management
  • Background within local authority, public sector, or complex estates
  • Able to operate immediately with minimal supervision
