A family-run business in Cumbria is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to maintain and repair production equipment. You'll work in a supportive environment, responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults on PLC systems. Qualifications

  • Understanding of PLC and electronic controlled equipment with experience diagnosing faults.
  • Qualification to the latest IEE wiring regulations desirable but not essential.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good time management skills to keep factory running smoothly.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene standards.
  • Team player, willing to support others through busy periods.
  • Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install manufacturing production equipment.
  • Quickly respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on PLC and electronically controlled equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety, HACCP, and hygiene requirements.
  • Follow a detailed, methodical approach to fault finding and repair.
  • Provide onsite support for continuous improvement projects.
  • Communicate any delays or issues clearly to relevant parties.
