Overview

Shift Electrical Engineer – Location: New Mills. Pay Rate: £21.88 per hour. Shifts: Mon–Thurs 06:00–14:00 or 14:00–22:00, Fri 06:00–12:00 or 12:00–18:00.

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a rewarding role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a Shift Electrical Engineer to join the team in supporting site operations with proactive maintenance, continuous improvement, and reliable weekend cover.

Responsibilities
  • Respond quickly and effectively to plant breakdowns
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Support efficiency improvements through line monitoring and continuous improvement projects
  • Provide weekend call-out cover on a rota basis (1 in 4 weekends after probation)
  • Work on installations, decommissioning, and panel building projects
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and GMP standards
  • Record all work carried out using CMMS (Shire)
  • Liaise with contractors, stores, and production teams to maintain smooth operations
Qualifications
  • Time-served Engineering Apprentice with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate with good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Health & Safety mindset and continuous improvement attitude
Desirable
  • HNC in Engineering
  • FMCG or regulated industry experience
