The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and 2–4 years of relevant industry experience. Competitive salary range of £40,000–£50,000 per annum offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience with PLCs, control panels, instrumentation, and low-voltage systems.
  • Understanding of BS7671, IEC, or similar standards.

Job description

ROLE – Electrical Engineer

SALARY – £40,000–£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Hertfordshire

My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis.

The Electrical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes :

  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 2–4 years’ or more of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong Electrical Design skills with the ability to design and develop control systems
  • A background in Water / Chemical / O&G / Aerospace / Automation industries would be ideal
  • Experience with electrical CAD software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  • Knowledge of PLCs, control panels, instrumentation, and low-voltage systems
  • Understanding of relevant standards such as BS7671, IEC, or similar
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate others
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well individually as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Responsibilities include :
  • Designing electrical systems and control architectures for equipment integration
  • Producing and updating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings
  • Supporting the development and improvement of engineering processes
  • Generating BOMs and ensuring accurate documentation within the MRP system
  • Liaising with other internal teams to coordinate project requirements
  • Working with manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical safety, quality and H&S standards
  • Assisting in the commissioning and testing of equipment
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied and technically challenging projects
