Overview

Electrical Designer – EPlan (Coventry Region) Site based role in Hinckley

Salary: 38,000 – 48,000 DOE + Overtime

Full–time Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week

Travel: Customers within 1.5 hours of Coventry

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our engineering team and deliver high–quality electrical and control system designs across a range of industrial projects. This is a hands–on role where you'll hit the ground running – no babysitting, just solid engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical and control systems using EPlan Electric and EPlan Pro Panel.
• Produce a wide variety of design documents, including title pages, terminal and cable diagrams, layouts, parts lists, and safety evaluation reports.
• Generate bills of materials, wire and cable labels, and device tags using Excel.
• Import/export to and from DXF/DWG file formats.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant standards and codes.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure efficient, cost–effective delivery.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
• Conduct safety hardware validation using SISTEMA.
• Travel to customer sites during installation phases as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• HND in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design.
• Proficient in EPlan Electric and EPlan Pro Panel.
• Strong understanding of electrical and control components.
• Familiarity with HSE, ISO, and other relevant standards.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed electrical drawings.
