Job description
Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician

Up to £52,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Rochester, Kent

SCINERGY are recruiting for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E,C&I) Technician to join the maintenance team at a gas fired power station in Rochester. In this role, you’ll carry out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance across all EC&I systems to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out fault-finding, repairs and preventative maintenance on EC&I equipment including sensors (pressure, level, temperature, flow), control systems (DCS / PLCs) and electrical plant such as motors and drives.
  • Collaborate with fellow Technicians and Engineers to deliver a clear and achievable daily maintenance schedule.
  • Support plant improvement projects, modifications and upgrade work across the site.
  • Assist with outage and shutdown activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through the site CMMS.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors when required.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Time-served apprenticeship in electrical, electronic or related engineering discipline.
  • Relevant engineering qualification at HNC level or above.
  • Proven hands-on maintenance experience across control, instrumentation and electrical systems within a heavy industrial environment (power generation, refinery, chemical, steel, paper, etc.).
  • Experience using a CMMS for work planning and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Team-focused attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a small, skilled engineering team.
Salary & Benefits
  • Basic salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
  • £2,100 location allowance
