TAY Recruitment Limited are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Contracts Manager to join a well‑established Electrical Installation, Maintenance and Commercial Services company based in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong experience in contract management—ideally with the ability to cost jobs—to play a key role in overseeing multiple projects and ensuring high‑quality delivery across commercial electrical works.

About the Role

As the Electrical Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of contractual agreements and project delivery. You will oversee multiple ongoing projects, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with contractual, industry and regulatory standards. You will work closely with internal teams across construction, operations, finance and legal to deliver projects efficiently, on schedule and within scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, securing favourable terms while minimising risk.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle from initiation through to completion, ensuring compliance with legal, technical and organisational requirements.
  • Coordinate project timelines using Microsoft Project and other project management tools, monitoring progress and addressing delays.
  • Lead negotiations to resolve disputes or amendments while maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Oversee and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong time‑management and organisational skills.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all contractual and project obligations are fulfilled.
  • Maintain accurate, organised records of contractual documentation using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Drive continuous improvement by refining contract management processes and implementing best practices.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior staff or project team members involved in contract-related work.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant construction regulations, industry standards and company policies.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Project Manager role within the construction or commercial electrical sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling and project tracking.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Effective leadership qualities with the ability to guide teams through complex processes.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles in a construction environment.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Advanced IT skills, including the full Microsoft Office suite.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable and beneficial for site visits.
