Job Description
  • Design and implement tailored electrical and software solutions for Syntegon packaging equipment, including legacy systems modernisation.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide engineering support to the field service team.
  • Develop clear documentation for service interventions, upgrades, and project-related materials.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support installation and commissioning of modernisation projects.
  • Integrate new control systems into existing machinery, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Assist the Electrical and Software engineering team with new customer projects and developments.
  • Manage cost targets in design, purchase, and assembly whilst carrying out risk assessments on machinery.
  • Ensure electrical aspects of machinery comply with European Community (CE), National Electric Code, Canadian Standards Association Codes, and Underwriters Laboratory requirements.

Specific Requirements

  • Valid passport and driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 10+ years of extensive Electrical and Software Engineering experience, preferably in the Packaging industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD electrical or EPLAN, and programming using Rockwell, Beckhoff and Zenon software
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards (CE, NFPA, CSA, UL) and safety performance levels
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Experience in design for manufacture and assembly, cost management, and servo motion technology
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (valid passport and driving licence required)
