Overview

We are seeking a Full time Deputy Manager to support the Team Manager in day‑to‑day operations and clinical leadership. You will supervise staff, oversee performance and absence management, and help monitor key performance indicators. You'll also contribute to service delivery, ensuring safety, quality, and innovation. This post requires strong leadership skills. You will support the Team Manager in day‑to‑day operations and clinical duties, supervise staff, manage absence and performance, help monitor key performance indicators and contribute to safe, high‑quality service delivery. Innovation and a positive, proactive approach are encouraged. You should be dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated to work within this model and help lead a busy team.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Team Manager in daily operations and clinical duties.
  • Supervise staff, including nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and psychologists.
  • Manage absence and performance, conduct appraisals, sickness absence and staff training.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to service evaluations and audits.
  • Coordinate care pathways and ensure EIS interventions are delivered effectively and in line with national guidance.
  • Carry a reduced caseload and support clinical work.
  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff.
  • Act as Duty Manager with full shadowing support and deputise for the Team Manager as needed.
  • Supervise support staff and students.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and deliver service improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a creative approach and be a positive role model.
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills, dynamic and motivated approach.
  • Deep understanding of health and social care policy in mental health.
  • Post‑registration experience working with adults and young people in the community.
  • Experience working with people with lived experience of psychosis.
  • Desirable: experience in community mental health and prior leadership experience.
  • Ability to travel during the working day and work flexibly to meet the needs of our people.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills; able to work within and lead a team.
  • Line‑manage a multidisciplinary team and supervise support staff.
  • Ability to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to the role.
  • Post‑registration and experience with a range of agencies and organisations.
  • Subject to Criminal Record Bureau checks and satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study.
Interview Process
  • Shortlisted candidates will deliver a 10‑minute presentation on: "How can an EIS Deputy Manager best support the delivery of EIS interventions?"
  • Support the Team Manager in daily operations.
  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership.
  • Ensure timely delivery of EIS interventions.
  • Contribute to service improvement.
  • Liaise with partner agencies.
  • Act as Duty Manager (full shadowing support).
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as needed.
