Job summary

A medical equipment manufacturer based in Plymouth is seeking an EHS Engineer. The successful candidate will work to ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability legislation. Responsibilities include implementing health and safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and leading external audits. Required qualifications include NEBOSH IOSH or NVQ H&S, and experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. This is a full-time position, and it is essential to hold entitlement to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH IOSH or NVQ H&S qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is necessary.
  • An engineering qualification would be an advantage.
  • Project management and/or team leadership experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Establish processes to maintain ISO14001 certification.
  • Carry out risk assessments on assembly equipment.
  • Create and maintain the COSHH Risk Assessment database.
  • Identify needs for Health and Safety training.

Job description

CK Group are recruiting for an EHS Engineer on behalf of medical equipment manufacturer based in Plymouth on a permanent basis.

In this role the successful candidate will work as part of a team to ensure the site complies with all relevant Health Safety Environmental and Sustainability legislation.

Duties and Responsibilities :
  • To assist management in implementing and maintaining the standards required of the health and safety at work act and all other codes of practice and relevant standards.
  • Act as the key contact and facilitator for external visits and audits from relevant agencies
  • Establish appropriate processes and controls to ensure that the site will maintain ISO14001 certified
  • Carry out risk assessments on assembly equipment new and old ensuring that the safety and wellbeing is not compromised
  • Create COSHH Risk assessments and maintain the sites COSHH Risk Assessment database
  • Identify any needs to carry out Health and Safety training across the site.
Candidate requirements - skills and experience :
  • NEBOSH IOSH or NVQ H&S qualification or equivalent experience is essential
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Engineering qualification would be an advantage
  • Project management and / or team leadership experience would be an advantage
