A leading English language school in Scotland is seeking enthusiastic teachers to instruct students aged 10-17 during summer courses focused on enhancing English fluency. Teachers will design lesson plans based on the needs of diverse students and manage classrooms effectively. This role offers competitive salaries and the opportunity to gain vital teaching experience within a supportive environment. Target English International runs junior summer courses for English language students aged between 10 and 17.
We have students from all over the world. The majority are Italian, but we also have students from Spain, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Argentina and Cyprus to name a few.
Students usually stay for two weeks and take part in a mixed programme of lessons and activities/excursions which are run by Activity Leaders.

We want our students to leave the course with a better understanding of UK culture and the inspiration to become life‑long learners of English.
Teachers are responsible for teaching 10–17‑year‑old students on our short summer courses which, in some of our centres, lead to the Trinity College London Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE).
Teachers usually work mornings and afternoons on our zigzag timetable, teaching 4 × 1.5‑hour lessons a day.
All teachers receive an on‑site induction with the Director of Studies (which includes Trinity exam preparation if teaching in a Trinity Centre).
The Target English International syllabus and range of materials are available in each centre.
Our course focuses on developing fluency skills and building student confidence in a friendly and stimulating environment. The in‑house syllabus is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
In Bath and Hull our package includes entry to the Trinity Graded Exam in Spoken English (GESE).
The language course includes: oral and written placement test to select class level and provide initial assessment; Trinity GESE 15 hours of English language tuition per week (students take 20 lessons per week and each lesson is 45 minutes long); Trinity College London GESE if in a Trinity Centre; maximum 15 students per class; morning and afternoon teaching timetable, 09:00‑12:30 and 14:00‑17:30 (exact times of classes may vary dependent on centre); enterprise English workshops sessions (age and level dependent, B1 and above, 16 years and over) focusing on preparing students for the world of work; writing CVs, interview techniques and business role play.
Centre specific information: contracts are usually 4 weeks (occasionally some shorter contracts are available) and extensions are possible in some locations; dates: end June to mid August for Bath, Liverpool, Edinburgh, London Hatfield, London Harrow, Colchester and Hull – teaching only 30 contact hours over 5 days per week, Monday‑Friday; no pastoral duties or activities.
Throughout your contract, you will accrue holiday pay, which you will receive at the end of your contract in addition to your weekly salary.
Residential salaries: £530 – £560 per week (dependent upon experience and qualifications), package includes accommodation and full board provided in addition to weekly pay, plus accrued holiday pay.
Non‑residential salaries: £695 – £725 per week (dependent upon experience and qualifications), plus accrued holiday pay and lunch provided.
