Job description
EBME/Clinical Engineering Senior Technician – Band 6

This role is for an experienced senior technician who will be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance of medical equipment across Croydon University Hospital and its associated centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and planned preventative maintenance, servicing, repair, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on high, medium and low risk medical devices.
  • Carry out ad‑hoc repairs and troubleshoot faults to provide cost‑effective solutions while maintaining the highest safety and accountability standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical, technical and OEM support staff, negotiating solutions and disseminating complex information to other team members.
  • Support the overall repair, maintenance and preventative maintenance programme in line with the 2015 medical device management guidance.
  • Adhere to training guidance identified in personal development reviews (PDR) and training needs analyses (TNA) to maintain senior level expertise.
  • Operate independently within the agreed departmental opening hours of Monday to Friday, 08.00 to 17.30 (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
  • Engage indirectly with patients where required, ensuring a high standard of customer care and safety.

Working Hours & Application
