Early Years Foundation Stage - Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

A nurturing and well‑resourced primary school in Romford (RM11) is seeking a qualified EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join its early years team. This role is ideal for a practitioner who is confident in applying the knowledge and practical skills gained through a Level 3 Early Years qualification and who is passionate about supporting children during their crucial early development stages.

About the Setting

The early years provision is child‑centred, inclusive, and play‑based, with a strong focus on communication, language, personal development, and school readiness. The setting provides a safe, stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, build independence, and develop positive relationships. The early years team works closely together, supported by experienced leadership, to ensure high‑quality teaching and care in line with the EYFS statutory framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of play‑based learning activities across the EYFS areas of learning
  • Apply knowledge of child development (0‑5 years) to support children at different developmental stages
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies, supporting children's emotional regulation and social skills
  • Support communication and language development, including modelling language and supporting early phonics
  • Assist with observations, assessments, and learning journals, linking evidence to EYFS outcomes
  • Use inclusive practice to support children with additional needs and different learning styles
  • Support safeguarding, health, and safety procedures in line with school policy
  • Assist with personal care routines, promoting independence and dignity
  • Support smooth transitions within the setting and into Year 1
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
  • Experience working in an EYFS or nursery setting (school‑based preferred)
