DT Technician – Secondary School (Long-Term Ongoing)

TARA Recruitment are working with a well-regarded secondary school to recruit a DT Technician for a long-term, ongoing position.

Working days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Pay: Negotiable (dependent on experience)

The Role:

As a DT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Design & Technology department by ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons (including resistant materials, graphics and food tech if applicable)
  • Maintaining and organising workshops, classrooms and storage areas
  • Ensuring equipment is clean, safe and in good working order
  • Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions when required
  • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies
  • Following health & safety procedures and risk assessments

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working as a DT Technician or within a school/educational setting (preferred)
  • Good practical skills and knowledge of DT equipment and materials
  • A strong understanding of health and safety in workshop environments
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • A positive, proactive approach to supporting staff and students
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
