Job summary

An engineering company in Wickwar is seeking a Draughtsperson to assist in product design with Solidworks. The role is permanent, offering 39 hours a week with a focus on maintaining safety standards and conducting design tasks. The ideal candidate will have machining experience and the ability to read technical drawings. This position includes office responsibilities and training opportunities.

Qualifications

Draughtsperson

Location: Wickwar

Contract: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an engineering company based in Wickwar, Wotton-under-Edge. Our client are an expert in hydraulic lifting equipment and are looking for a Junior Designer to assist in product design using Solidworks.

This role is a permanent opportunity, 39 hours a week, M-F, with an early finish on Fridays.

Role Responsibilities - Draughtsperson
  • Maintain all standards of Health and Safety Rules of the Company.
  • Work within the company's ISO9001:2015 system.
  • Maintain good standards in the work place, keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe at all times.
  • Operate and use office machines as authorised in accordance with manufacturers' operating instructions.
  • Attend meetings and training as required. This may include visiting customers' sites to carry out design duties.
  • Solidworks - design of new products & components, jigs fixtures and related materiel as directed by the DO Manager
  • Paracad - to maintain historic records on the Paracad system.
  • DAR - maintain & control the change record system.
  • General office duties as required or directed including help with answering the phones in the sales office.
The ideal candidate for the Draughtsperson would have:
  • Metal working machining experience and be apprentice trained.
  • Must be able to read technical drawings. CAD training will be given.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in electrical engineering a large advantage.
  • Experience with Solidworks would be preferred.
  • Candidates in Draughtsperson role or a Junior Design Engineer role would be ideal.
