Overview

Door Service Engineer (Commercial Doors & Windows) – Berkshire. Full UK Driving Licence Required.

We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our team, working on a variety of commercial door and window projects. While we'd love to find an experienced door engineer, we know they're hard to come by - so we're also open to applications from service engineers with a solid engineering background who are willing to work across multiple material types.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance, reactive call-outs, and installations.
• Fault-finding, diagnosing, and advising customers on remedial works.
• Working on steel, aluminium, timber, and automatic doors, plus commercial windows.
• Handling repair work including glazing, locks, door closers, and access control systems (desirable).
• Taking on site installations across the South of the UK.
• Managing your daily workload, keeping your vehicle stocked, and completing job sheets.
• Participating in a call-out rota and occasional overtime.

Ideal Candidate / Qualifications

• Experience as a door engineer (manual or automatic) - but we will also consider candidates with transferable skills such as service engineers, toolmakers, or tradespeople who are adaptable.
• Confidence working with a range of materials (aluminium, steel, timber).
• Experience hanging fire doors (carpentry background welcome, provided you're open to working beyond timber only).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
• A practical, hands-on approach and flexibility to “turn your hand to anything.”

Requirements

• Based within a 10-15 mile radius of Berkshire.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Able to pass a DBS (criminal record) check.
• CSCS, PASMA, and IPAF are an advantage (training can be provided).
