Job summary

A leading media company based in the UK is seeking a software engineer with strong Scala development experience and expertise in cloud technologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining software that integrates critical data components, adopting automation and confidentiality in their delivery. The ideal individual will thrive in an agile environment, working collaboratively with engineers to enhance data movement and orchestration, supporting over 50 million customers worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Strong Scala development experience, preferably in the akka / pekko ecosystem.
  • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud technologies.
  • Strong Test Driven Development background, with understanding of levels of testing.
  • Experience with build management and CI systems such as Jenkins, TeamCity or similar.
  • Delivery experience within an agile environment.

Qualifications

What you’ll do
  • Design, build, test and maintain software to help integrate and orchestrate the movement of data between critical Data components.
  • Deliver observable, reliable and secure software, adopting a "you build it you run it" mentality, and focus on automation.
  • Take an active role in story definition, assisting business collaborators with acceptance criteria.
  • Work with Principal Engineers and Architects to share and supply to the broader technical vision.
