Briscol City Council are seeking a skilled and proactive Disrepair Surveyor to join their Repairs & Maintenance team.

Location: Bristol

Set-up: Hybrid

Rate:£298/day via umbrella inside IR35

Duration: Initially 3 months

Hours:Full-time position

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all legal claims within Repairs and Maintenance are successfully investigated and completed with minimal litigation, addressing tenants' expectations regarding property conditions
  • Conduct thorough inspections, coordinate and oversee necessary repairs including monitoring the work of the trade teams and contractors, from start to completion, ensuring delivery of high quality work
  • Ensure clear communication with tenants, provide them with a detailed report to each case, achieving high customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Proven experience in building surveying, property inspections, and defect diagnosis within a housing or maintenance environment
  • Strong knowledge of housing disrepair legislation, legal claims processes, and dispute resolution
  • Track record of managing projects, contractors, and budgets while delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Skilled in producing technical reports, specifications, and schedules, with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Competent in using housing management or case management IT systems (e.g., iCasework) and handling sensitive customer data securely
