Job description
Responsibilities
  • Work alongside pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and assistants to provide a patient‑focused dispensing service and complete in‑house competencies and an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services to support all activities detailed in the job description.
  • Receive prescriptions from patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals at the dispensary reception.
  • Ensure the prescription charge is collected from eligible patients at the dispensary reception.
  • Receive medication charts and controlled drug books from other healthcare professionals at the dispensary reception.
  • Answer the telephone and deal with queries from patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals about stocks held and medications ready for collection, and refer queries as appropriate.
  • Label and dispense in‑patient, out‑patient, discharge prescriptions and Controlled Drugs.
  • Act as a Logist for a major incident if required.
  • Maintain computer literacy skills required for day‑to‑day work.
Training and Development
