As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered and applications from candidates outside the UK will not be progressed unless relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.

In the store’s healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. You will greet customers, dispense prescriptions, ensure the safe sale of medicines, and provide advice using your healthcare knowledge to help patients make informed health decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prescription dispensing while ensuring the safe supply of medicines (ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collection of prescriptions).
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in-store to assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services.
  • Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Keep up to date with new innovations in-store and comply with operational processes.
  • Support patients to manage their prescriptions with reliable repeats and manage medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

There is opportunity to work with evolving technologies and new systems to develop dispensing processes, improve patient safety, and free time to spend with patients.

You will receive regular updates and training to develop your healthcare knowledge, as well as career development options including the potential to train as a Pharmacy Technician or as part of the store leadership team.

What you’ll need to have
  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or are currently working towards and have completed the first year of an MPharm qualification.
