A leading Welsh healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to lead Pharmacy Technical Services. You will manage operations, engage with stakeholders, and shape the future of pharmacy services within NHS Wales. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in hospital pharmacy, and a relevant postgraduate qualification. An exciting opportunity has arisen foran experienced Pharmacist to lead, shape and influence Pharmacy Technical Services within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP).
Transforming Access to Medicines is an NHS Wales programme to set up a shared Pharmacy Technical Service for Wales. The post is the senior professional post in the service and will report to the Managing Director of Shared Services, with a professional relationship to the Welsh Government Chief Pharmacist. The post will be a peer member of the Chief Pharmacists Group of the Health Boards and Trusts in NHS Wales. The post holder will act as the senior accountable professional for the medicine's preparation activities. They will play a key role in supporting the mobilisation of the service, a major investment in facilities and equipment, and the process by which the service's people will be assembled. The post will take responsibility for leading the transition from mobilisation into operational service.
You will have wide experience of Pharmacy Technical Services in a Secondary Care setting, experience of delivering transformational change, and be used to leading large and diverse teams. You will be knowledgeable about the detail of production activity, accustomed to dealing with clinical, financial, workforce, and executive stakeholders, and with experience of managing multi-site operations.
This is a critical strategic role, as such you will benefit from having strong leadership skills and resilience. You will also need the ability to easily build trusting relationships with peers and stakeholders and to act as an ambassador for NWSSP, as well as the ability to inspire, engage and empower the workforce. Finally, you will need to bepassionateand people centred, embodying the values of NWSSP and NHS Wales.

Therewill be a 2 stage recruitment process including a Presentation with a Stakeholder panel followed by a formal panel interview. These processes will take place on separate days, and depending on circumstances may be conducted virtually.
