The Central Transformation Office (CTO) department is mandated to deliver strategic projects & initiatives across MUS Securities International and Bank EMEA. CTO will manage and execute strategic business transformation change and is likely to be business critical or sensitive, including front‑to‑back (f2b) multi‑entity, multi‑business area impacting additions. These may be high‑budget, high‑change risk projects along with multi‑year duration, potentially structured as a programme with multiple projects. They may include a combination of strategic business change, regulatory and IT components, so close collaboration with AEs, business owners, support departments and Technology will be essential. CTO has been expanded to also include functions responsible for DX / AI implementation across EMEA ESG initiatives and oversight in EMEA Global Efficiency Office initiatives across MUFG and strategic project delivery outside of the investment portfolio.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to provide business management support for the International Head of Change Management / Chief Transformation Officer for EMEA. This includes ensuring executive reporting, function‑level controls and key strategic initiatives are delivered in line with respective frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide strategic support to the Chief Transformation Officer for EMEA with particular focus on deputy responsibilities, MI & reporting perspective.
  • Develop, embed and govern the strategic plan and transformation activities on behalf of the Chief Transformation Officer, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and financial efficiencies.
  • Provide coaching and set direction for the CPMO Lead; cover periods of leave for that role.
  • Assist in devising team strategy and vision with a roadmap to Change and Transformation; collaborate with senior members to drive BOW.
  • Contribute to IPC, EDF & other forums delivery to ensure project delivery assurance of high‑risk, high‑profile projects and provide visibility across MUFG EMEA Securities International.
  • Chair the Risk Assessment Forum (RAF) to maintain RCSA across all teams in CTO, ensuring control frameworks are up‑to‑date.
  • Post Blue Day 2, provide a six‑month warranty period to Technology, enabling a smooth handover and keeping service levels aligned with expectations of MUFG Bank Head Office and local stakeholders.
  • Manage the cadence for Central Transformation Office executive reporting to key committees, including EMEA Executive Committee, MUS International Management Committee (IMC), EMEA Culture Committee and MUSHD Management Committee.
  • Maintain relationships with 2LOD / 3LOD, focusing on Operational Risk, Internal Audit and SoX.
  • Work with FPA to develop the annual BAU financial and FTE budget, review monthly performance against actuals and identify savings.
  • Ensure Human Capital Plans are approved, up‑to‑date and industry‑standard.
  • Assess Employee Engagement Survey and Glint Pulse Check; implement action plans to improve satisfaction.
  • Oversee the monthly management forum to meet ORM requirements and identify upcoming issues.
  • Manage Operational Risk engagement via EORCC attendance, ensuring reporting requirements are met and information is disseminated as needed.
  • Ensure staff engagement and compliance for performance management, objective setting and Leap training.
  • Attend quarterly Corporate Health and Safety forum, assessing KPI metrics with a focus on impact to CTO.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 12-15 years proven track record delivery in financial institutions.
DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE OF
  • Executive‑level BAU business and operational management.
  • Excellent budgetary understanding and oversight of entity and departmental costs and resourcing.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • High‑quality MI and reporting for executive consumption—ability to summarise complex issues simply.
  • Strong analytical and business experience.
  • Understanding of financial products across different asset classes, including derivatives, cash/credit products, pricing and risk models, and trade lifecycle & workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations and experience running regulatory projects.
  • Good understanding of front‑to‑back processes.
  • Track record of managing multiple stakeholders and building relationships across diverse skill sets.
  • Experience negotiating contracts with vendors and consultancies.
  • Coaching, mentoring and leadership skills.
  • Expertise delivering full project lifecycle SDLC/PDLC using waterfall and agile approaches.
  • Communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to develop core business case, define and articulate benefits & outcomes.
