Digitisation Technicians (Still Media) x 2

Join the IWM Digitisation team and help preserve history for future generations. We're looking for 2 x Digitisation Technicians (Still Media) to support both Access and Preservation projects. You'll work with a wide range of analogue materials—from photographs and documents to artworks on paper—transforming them into high-quality digital assets.

Responsibilities
  • Digitising collection items using high-end imaging equipment and specialist software.
  • Handling fragile and historically significant media with care and precision.
  • Producing digital master files and exhibition-ready outputs.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to meet content delivery needs.
  • Maintaining a colour-managed studio environment and ensuring equipment calibration.
  • Supporting conservation efforts and contributing to the long-term preservation of IWM's collections.
Your Profile
  • You're a skilled imaging professional with:
  • A relevant qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ4 or similar).
  • Strong experience digitising photographic and paper-based collections.
  • Excellent knowledge of analogue media formats and digital imaging workflows.
  • Confidence using Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and cataloguing systems.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and a proactive approach to learning and teamwork.
