Digital Learning Technologist

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Learning Technologist to drive the Trust's Digital Learning agenda. This is a strategic role focused on evolving traditional learning into a digitally enabled, blended model that supports staff development and service excellence.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of digital learning resources.
  2. Manage the Digital Learning Development team and collaborate with stakeholders across the Trust.
  3. Oversee the Learning Management System (Totara), ensuring effective use and continuous improvement.
  4. Develop and deliver engaging digital content including e-learning, webinars, podcasts, vlogs, and immersive formats such as virtual reality.
  5. Build digital capability across the workforce through training and support.
  6. Align digital learning initiatives with national priorities and service needs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Postgraduate qualification in HR, Organisational Development, Education, Computer Science, Information Science or similar or equivalent experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of digital education delivery, curation and creation.
  • PRINCE2 Project Management qualification.
  • Professional award in learning technologies, such as Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT), or equivalent.
Experience
  • Significant experience of leading change in challenging highly complex working environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Moodle / Totara.
  • Expert knowledge of using eLearning tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Vyond and other animation technologies.
  • Experience in NHS learning and training delivery.
  • NHS ESR experience.

  • Ability to maintain focus and objectivity under various conditions, and skill in managing and maintaining a multi‑priority workload.
  • Leadership, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate, challenge and engage individuals and teams.
