Job Description

As a Digital Investigator, you will play a vital role in protecting vulnerable people, particularly children, from online harm. You will investigate offenders, gathering and analysing digital intelligence, and provide specialist support to colleagues and partner agencies. This role requires resilience, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, often working with sensitive and challenging material to achieve justice and protect the public. Please note if successful you will have to undergo Vigorous vetting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to intelligence referrals from partner agencies relating to online offenders
  • Analyse and interpret digital data to support crime prevention and detection
  • Operate specialist software and hardware to extract and present digital evidence
  • Arrest, interview, and build case files on offenders in line with legislation and policy
  • Seize, examine, and retain evidence to maintain the integrity of investigations
  • Work closely with partner agencies such as probation, prisons, and social services
  • Provide specialist advice and knowledge to support investigations
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and best practice in digital investigations
