Job description

We are looking for an experienced Dietitian with knowledge of complex nutrition support in Hepatology and Gastroenterology to support inpatient and outpatient work in North Bristol NHS Trust (Southmead Hospital).

Role Overview
  • Weekly (Thursday) Consultant‑led Liver clinic. Working alongside the Band 7 Gastroenterology Dietitian to collect data for the dietetic liver project. Experience of audit and quality improvement is desirable.
  • Provide dietetic cover to the busy acute inpatient gastroenterology ward, managing oral nutritional support and enteral feeding for patients with IBD, gastroparesis, hematology and hepatology. Occasionally support eating‑disorder patients when required.
  • Assist with training and supervision of student dietitians from Plymouth University (BSc) and Birmingham City University (MSc). Experience of supporting students is essential.
  • Deliver group education sessions and training on nutrition‑related topics to health professionals and patients.
  • Contribute to departmental audit activities and support the implementation of the Trust Nutrition and Hydration Strategy.
  • Support training of student dietitians within the department.
