Position Overview

Are you interested in developing your skills as a Dietetic Assistant? Whether you are starting out in your career, returning to the workforce or looking for a change in direction; if you have an interest in nutrition and a passion for helping people, this is the job for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who is interested in working in the hospital environment to ensure that our patients receive the best possible nutritional care. You will be welcomed into our friendly dietetic department and well supported by a dedicated clinical supervisor. You will also have peer support from dietetic assistants working in the acute and rehab dietetic teams at Manchester Royal Infirmary and across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review nutritional care plans for adult renal patients at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
  • Communicate with members of the wider multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists), pharmacists and the catering department.
  • Contribute to patient education and staff training sessions.
  • Play a key role in delivering health promotion campaigns such as Dietitians Week, AHP week, and Nutrition and Hydration week.
  • Support dietitians and perform administrative tasks to ensure the smooth and effective running of the department.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in health and care is not required but is favourable.
  • Well‑organised, flexible and capable of working as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
