Job summary

A leading UK-based rail freight and logistics operator is seeking a Diesel Locomotive Production Support Engineer to provide technical support for a diverse locomotive fleet. This role involves acting as a safety leader, monitoring fleet performance, and developing maintenance specifications. Candidates should have solid engineering experience, preferably in traction and rolling stock, and an HNC in engineering. The position offers a salary range of £50,000 to £56,000.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
• Solid engineering experience within Traction & Rolling Stock.

Responsibilities

• Act as a safety leader, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards.
• Monitor reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the locomotive fleets.
• Identify technical improvements and develop solutions.

Skills

Engineering experience within Traction & Rolling Stock

Understanding of rail terminal operations

Completion of a recognised Foundation Safety Management course

Education
