Job summary

Diagnostic Radiographer Band 5. 37.5hr post available.

Work as a diagnostic radiographer within the team that provides 365 days, 24 hour radiology services, including general radiography, theatre services, emergency radiography and fluoroscopic services, with rotation through CT and the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). All applicants must have a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent and HCPC registration.

Post suitable to newly qualified and experienced radiographers (including students due to qualify in 2024 if registration is pending).

Main duties of the job
  • Provide a radiology service across West Cumbria comprising general radiography, theatres, dental, fluoroscopy and CT.
  • Work independently to justify, authorise and perform radiographic examinations from a range of referral pathways including general and dental practitioners.
  • Provide 24/7 department cover.
  • Work as part of the Radiology team to mentor student radiographers, assistant practitioners and newly qualified radiographers.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance as required.
