Overview

The DevOps Technology Lead is a key leadership role within NTT DATA’s DevOps practice and is responsible for organisational level solution definition. An evangelist for DevOps and technology decisions, drives business level change through the definition and introduction of technical solutions. Presenting and gaining support from client leadership. Recognised as an industry level expert with considerable experience helping organisations transform through the introduction of DevOps practices and solutions.

In addition to technical leadership and delivery, the practice responsibilities include presales as well as line management responsibility for approximately 20 - 30 engineers. This requires strong commercial acumen and managerial experience.

Internally the DevOps Technology Lead provides the technical development pathway, coaching and mentorship to the DevOps engineers.

What experience you'll bring

You are a self-starter, a dynamic team player and an effective communicator capable of demystifying complicated concepts to both technical and non-technical people.

You have an excellent blend of technical and process-orientated skills and are comfortable building strong relationships at all levels.

Your experience and interests transcend all technology, tools and platforms. You also have a real passion for delivering business benefits using the latest technologies, with a focus on scalability and cost efficiency.

  • A thought-leader through internal, client and industry engagement, blogging and speaking at events, with the ability to inspire and lead with genuine passion for technology and best practices. This interest allows you to adapt to the constantly evolving technical landscape.
  • You have a wealth of experience planning, building and leading large scale transformations and implementing DevOps solutions
  • We're split into the major three cloud providers (GCP, Azure and AWS) and tend for look for experience with one of the three, in addition to a solid understanding of Terraform, Jenkins, and the latest CI/CD experience.
  • Some tools and technologies that may come up in your role (though we don't require experience in all of these) include: Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE cloud offerings too) and Docker, GitLab, Circle CI and others.
  • Experience of coaching and training teams in optimising software engineering and end to end delivery.
