Job summary

A consultancy firm is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a modernization programme as part of a large-scale platform delivery. This role requires strong hands-on DevOps engineering experience and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. The position is remote with occasional travel to London, focusing on initiatives to move microservices to the cloud. Essential qualifications include solid Terraform and AWS experience, along with active SC clearance. Competitive rate offered, contract lasting 6 months with a start in January 2026.

DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared)

Rate: DOE (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: 6 months

Start: January 2026

Clearance: Active SC required

Location: Remote with travel to London 1 day per month (not expensed)

We are supporting a consultancy delivering a large-scale platform and modernisation programme and are looking for experienced DevOps Engineers to support teams moving microservices onto a new cloud platform.

This is a hands‑on role for engineers who are comfortable working end‑to‑end, from code through to production, and who enjoy supporting delivery teams through build, deployment and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for production services
• Write and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Deploy and operate microservices in AWS environments
• Support delivery teams with deployments, releases and environment issues
• Implement monitoring, logging, metrics and alerting
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, runtime issues and infrastructure problems
• Contribute to shared tooling, patterns and reusable templates

Essential Experience

• Strong hands‑on DevOps engineering experience
• Proven experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
• Solid Terraform experience, including modules and multi‑environment setups
• Good AWS experience, including IAM, networking and container services
• Experience supporting services in production environments
• Familiarity with observability tooling (e.g. CloudWatch, Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus)
• Active SC clearance
