Overview

DevOps Architect (AWS) - Bristol
Location: Hybrid - 2-3 Days onsite
Type: Permanent / Full-time

My client are building a cutting-edge coding platform that empowers users to create and deploy full-stack apps, both front and back, with just a few clicks. Currently in alpha and moving into public beta this year, we're scaling rapidly and need an experienced DevOps Architect to help them get there.

This is a career-defining opportunity to join early, shape the infrastructure, and eventually grow and lead a full operations team as the company scales.

The Role

• Take ownership of AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, working hands-on with the existing dev team.
• Productise the current dev-led infrastructure: make it secure, scalable, and reliable.
• Build robust pipelines and systems to give developers maximum flexibility while ensuring data security is never compromised.
• Guide and collaborate with product engineers, embedding best practices across the team.
• Lead us towards ISO27001 and/or SOC2 certification over the next few years.
• Grow into managing and scaling a dedicated operations function as customer demand increases.

What We're Looking For

• Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerisation on AWS.
• Strong experience with Terraform (or equivalent IaC tools).
• A clear vision for designing highly observable, secure, and reliable infrastructure.
• Including expertise in multi-tenant systems (segregation, monitoring, cost allocation).
• Evidence of designing and setting up infrastructure from scratch, not just inheriting it.
• Background in Infrastructure, DevOps, and/or SRE roles.
• Startup/scaleup experience - able to adapt and grow with a fast-changing environment.
• Bonus: Experience supporting or leading ISO27001, SOC2, or equivalent certifications.
