Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner MSK Developmental Post

Central London Community Health NHS Trust is offering an exciting developmental opportunity for an experienced Band 7 MSK Physiotherapist. The role is a senior clinical position within an integrated community musculoskeletal service, providing advanced practice, leadership and service development across CLCH.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standard advanced clinical care for adult patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions
  • Provide expert clinical opinion and advice to managers, supporting strategic development of the physiotherapy service across the organisation
  • Lead the organisation, development and evaluation of the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner service
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate management of patients within physiotherapy services
  • Provide clinical leadership supporting quality improvement, service redesign and innovation
  • Mentor, supervise and develop physiotherapy staff within the service
  • Apply clinical governance principles to support safe practice and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
  • Evidence of CPD in MSK physiotherapy in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
  • Postgraduate education/courses in MSK
  • Educational attainment at level 7 in MSK
  • Desirable: MSc in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, clinical interest group membership, leadership training, injection therapy qualification, knowledge of pain services
Experience
  • Extensive NHS experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
  • Experience managing complex patients, including red flag presentations and potentially suspicious pathology
  • Experience teaching and training colleagues in specialist skills associated with the role
  • Experience planning, organising and undertaking audit and research and development relevant to the service
  • Understanding of broader musculoskeletal health context and clinical governance application to MSK physiotherapy
Skills & Knowledge
  • Highly developed manual dexterity and precision in assessment and diagnosis of MSK disorders
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to develop specific care packages for specialised or complex caseloads
  • Work effectively under pressure with unpredictable interruptions while maintaining patient and service needs
  • Moderate physical effort including manual handling associated with patient manoeuvring and equipment
  • Strong team player with leadership capability within scope of responsibility
  • Computer literate skills
  • Competence in supervision and appraisal of own and others’ skills
